Belt drive is widely used in mechanical engineer. It can transmit motion within long distance work smoothly and with little noise protect accidental overload. Request of its manufacturing precision is relatively low and installing it is relatively simple. However, when it is working, a phenomenon called as elastic slippage will unavoidably happens because of the elastic of belt and difference of pull in the belt. This phenomenon makes the circumferential velocity of the driven wheel be slower than the drive wheel's decrease the efficiency of the belt drive abrade the belt and shorten its life. So, it is very important for those who design and use it to know and understand qualitatively and quantitatively the phenomenon of elastic slippage.In the instructing of theory and design of belt drive, the test of elastic slippage is indispensable. Computer aided instruction( CAI) and computer aided test(CAT) have been widely used as computer technologies develop dramatically, but the instruction way and equipment of the belt drive test trail the development of today's engineer technology.For the reasons related above, I proposed the research named "Research of CAI and CAT System of Belt Drive Experiment".Following achievements have been reached in this study:1 The software of Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) of belt drive experiment is designed and produced. Using PowerPoint, this CAI narrates briefly and legibly the motive principle equipment and the operation approach When narrating the operation approach in the way of navigation, the software uses words photos of practicality cartoon and combines them organically, such makes the effect be vivid and clear. This file is packed into executive file and is linked to the CAT through being called If necessary, experimenters can consult to it time and again during the whole test.2 Maintaining the structure of intrinsic equipment mainframe to be invariable, a special circuit board used to communicate with serial interface of the computer is designed and made. This circuit board can translate impulse signal outputted from photoelectric sensor into ASCII codes and then input them into serial interface of the computer, these ASCII codes are ulteriorly displayed and disposed through the CAT software. Without using mechanical potentiometer, the load voltage of the test mainframe can be putted on in the way of program control through the circuit board or through the CAT software. So adjusting the load voltage becomes more convenient than intrinsic test set, and the output of the load voltage is more accurate and more steady than before. 3 A software of CAT with complete functions is designed during the study. Thissoftware is used for computer aided test and is programmed with Visual Basic. Its function module primarily include data acquisition data display data processing and giving grades to experimenters etc. The interface of this software is not only porcelain but also simple and convenient to operate All test data is simultaneously displayed in real time, so, shortcomings exiting in the early test equipment such as test data displaying in share time and serially oneness and no intuitiveness of the displaying data are avoided. The raw data processed data and grades of experimenters are all saved in a computer.In conclusion, through this research, technology levels of software and hardware of the experiment are enhanced and the instruction way of it is more advanced than the early's. Furthermore, this research lays a firm foundation and provides a worthy mode for teaching reform of other experiments.
