The development of modern design thought has made people not be satisfied with designing a controller only when system or structure existed could not measure up the performances. It is leading people to consider the integrated problems of structure/controller at the beginning of the system or structure designing. In recent years,the world specialists and scholars focus their minds on the theory study of the integrated optimization design. So we consider applying integrated optimization on the design of a vehicle semi-active suspension system. Because traditional design method of vehicle semi-active suspension system always design control parameters following structure parameters and it can not obtain the global optimum performances for the system,this paper presents the method to integrate the structure and control parameters of the semi-active suspension system. Considering the uncertain factors of the suspension system of a vehicle that are from the environment disturb as vehicle running,we bring forward two methods to integrate semi-active suspension system in this paper. One is the integrated optimization based on Genetic Algorithm and LQG Control,the other is the integrated optimization based on Genetic Algorithm and H Control. The effectiveness of the proposed integrated optimization method to improve riding and security was proved by theory analysis,simulation and test. The method can also be used in the field of chassis design or other mechanical and electrical design.
