University City, whose intention and extension are increasingly prosperous and rich, is constructed from the early years of the 20th century, develops in 1940's and 1950's, and prospers in the end of the 20th century. It includes two typical models: "Naturally Developing" and "Planning & Constructing", and covers Mulit-campus University, Multiversity, Collegial Garden of Science and Technology, and Modern University City which integrates producing, learning and studying and takes college\university as the core and main body. University City Planning, which mainly contains the orientation of function, space position and synthetic benefit of University City, is a process determining the developing aim and all-around arranging every construction according to the requirement of the development of regional economy and higher education during a period. The orientation of function of University City should analyze the latent predominance of University City according to the requirement of macroscopic social development, then determine its main function is either higher educational teaching, scientific research and development, or both of them. The space position of University City should build a space frame system of "three block" in term of levels of share of resource. The synthetic benefit of University City should emphasize the internal integration and the coordinated growth of scale, frame, quality and benefit. It also should set up a concept of "whole strength", adjust the hierarchy of the institution and the structure of subject and specialty in the University City, and innovate administrant system and the mechanism of the higher institution.
