Concrete pump is the special machine of concreting. By the booms system, concrete can be transported to construction directly through the pipe. Concrete pump can be applied in large concrete project, underwater or underground construction, concreting in tunnel, etc. Affected by the laggard technology of concrete, concrete pump industry in our country starts later and develops slower. At present, all of the concrete pump manufacturers cannot manufacture the concrete pump with a maximum height of 42m or 48m by themselves, so it is very necessary to design concrete pump series with long booms and especially to design the concrete pump's booms system.In the design process of concrete pump, for reducing the pressure and lengths of cylinders, Optimization to booms system is very important. Based on the project -"Construction Optimization Design of Concrete Pump with a maximum height of 42m 47m, 52m 62m ", the optimization model of concrete pump booms system is set up. By simulation the restrictions are researched. Atthe same time , a new optimization method------Genetic Algorithms(GAs) isintroduced and studied. GAs is modified and applied in the optimization design of concrete pump booms system and optimization result is quite satisfying.In the process of modifying GAs, this paper adds the inverse operation. The "variation" operation consists of inverse operation and mutation operation, which keeps the variety of offspring. In selection operation, roulette wheel selection alternates with tournament selection, which enlarges the searching range of GAs and is beneficial to global searching.The optimization of concrete pump booms system is a multi - object optimization with restrictions. United Object Technique is used to simplify the optimization object. For keeping all branch objects have better solutions, the best solution should be selected from feasible solutions. For making the feasible solutions disperse in whole "Pareto", the Niche based on sharing function is applied, which keeps the population diversity by controlling the selection probability of similar chromosome.In this paper, author studies how the software of concrete pump booms system's optimization design is achieved. The design and realization method of genetic algorithms(GAs) is researched too. All of these researches not only provide an effective and practicable tool to design concrete pump booms system but also validate the validity and feasibility of the betterment genetic algorithms. In a word, this paper achieves a series of useful theories and practical results.
