The history and current development of power system load modeling are briefly summaried,including the concepts,models,identifiability and identification methods . This paper focus on Load Model in the following three aspects with applications:1. Influences of local power plant on load modeling. The influence of both synchronous generator and the distance from local power plant to load bus on load modeling are analyzed. When the influences are not negligible,the composite induction motor load model can not effectively describe the actual load. Besides,the identifiability in this case is analyzed.2. Classification of dynamic loads. The parameter sensitivity of induction motor load model is studied. A new approach based on fuzzy c-means clustering is proposed for the classification of dynamic load characters. The approach is proved by simulation tests and applied to the classification of actual load data of Henan Provincial Power Company.3. Synthesis of dynamic loads. Using both direct synthesis and parameters weighted synthesis,validity of tow methods are proved by simulation tests and field tests.The studies on characteristic classification and synthesis of dynamic loads will be helpful to surmounting the difficulties in applications.
