In this paper, We have prepared soft magnetic MnZn ferrites with high thermal stability and low coercive force using sol-gel citrate auto-combustion method successfully, and investigated on how this process affected the magnetic properties of soft magnetic MnZn ferrites.Sol-gel auto-combustion method is a new technology, combining ordinary sol-gel process with self-propagating at high temperature. The powders prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion have many merits, such as small grains, high activity and good equality. So it is a good method for manufacturing soft magnetic MnZn ferrites.In our experiments, we prepared MnZn ferrite powders using sol-gel auto-combustion successfully. Their crystalline structure and phase are discussed by X-ray diffraction instruction. In order to know of them more exactly, we also took transmission electronic photography(TEM) of the powders, and measured the magnetic properties of many MnZn ferrites.We emphatically discussed how the sintering environment affected initial permeability (ui),and how different contents of ZnO varied saturation magnetization(Bs)and curie temperature(Tc). The factors of affecting temperature stability of ferrites were analyzed.Finally, we compared sol-gel auto-combustion way with conventional ceramic method.
