There are two main categories of torpedo drive systems: electrical and thermal.Electrical power torpedoes are the important warfare weaPons for our navysubmchnes. With the development of farther range, faster speed and variable velocityelectrically-propelled torpedoes, modern electrical power torpedo features high speedand speed variability and quietness in its voyage. In general, torpedo e1ectrical powerpropulsion system consists of storage battery, control electrical equipmellt, propulsionDC motor and propellers. The transient state of torpedo electrical drive system,caused by torpedo's steding, shifting, and the fluctuation of battery voltage, and thechange of the resistance in voyage, will influence efltire attitude and stability of thetorpedo immediately, as well as every parts of electrical propulsion system. Therefore,it is necessary to theoretically analyZe the transient state of torpedo electrical powerpropulsion system. In this paPef, the torpedo's counterrotating propulsion DC motors(Including series excitation motor and permanent magnetic excitation motor) are thecore to stlldy; combining the characteristics of battery shiffing electrical equipmentand counterrotating propellers, the mathematic models of the torpedo's electricalcounterrotating propulsion system (Including the mathematic models of thepropulsion motors and the Zn/AgO battery and the shifting electrical equipment andcounterrotating propellers) are established. In these mathematic models, the essentialvedables are propulsion motor's inPut voltage, inPut currefit and outPllt rotate rate andoutPut torque. With these variables, the transient process of torpedo's electricalcounterrotating propulsion system is studied both in quality and in quantity bycomPuting its mathematic models. This study is done for the first time in domestictOrpedo business, the mathematic model of cowterrotating motor is established andsome sPecial characteristics of torpedo's drive cowterrotating DC motor under theload of constant torque or the load of cowterrotating propellers are exposited.Meanwhile, the mathematic model of torpedo's electrical propulsion system isestablished, which is comPosed of Zn/AgO batteries, tWo step shifting electricalequipment, cooterrotating DC motor and counterrotating propellers. The torpedoelectrical drive system's changing regUlations in stining, shifting and stoppingtTansient process are exposited as well.
