It has already been proved that the economical benefit brought by the application of fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant central for control systems. And the reliability of the central systems is also improved significantly. Fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control are successfully applied in many important engineering areas.A ship fin stabilizer control system is proposed to show the applicatim of some relative fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control technique in the dissertation. The following research is done here:1. The application of fault diagnosis in fin stabilizer control system. Be aimed at the randomness of signals in system, the fault diagnosis based on signal spectral analysis is done.2. A improved reasoning method of the fault diagnosis expert system for fin stabilizer is proposed on what has already been achieved.3. Application of the fuzzy neural network to the fault diagnosis for fin stabilizer systems.The following two works are done on fault-tolerant control:1. Fault-tolerant control of fin stabilizer PID controller which has redundant thoroughfare. The reliability of the PID controller is calculated.2. The fault-tolerant PID controller of fin stabilizer by use of roots-assignment of singular equation.The research results in the dissertation can be used in engineering design of fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control of fin stabilizer systems.
