In this paper, the law of temperature field, pressure field and smoke distribution in a long road tunnel is studied. On the basis of this, the tactic of prevention and rescue of tunnel fire is discussed.Firstly, the paper introduces the tunnel fire about its characteristics, causes, damages and status in quo of research in the world. Then, making use of theoretic analysis and fire experiment, the paper analyzes the temperature distribution, which include the connection among maximum temperature, air velocity and intensity of fire sources, the process of temperature changing with time, the rule of temperature distribution along landscape and longitudinal orientation. In the same time, the rule of pressure distribution that includes pressure process, air velocity process, changing of thermal resistance and fire pressure that is mostly discussed is studied. Furthermore, the property of smoke distribution and propagation as well as smoke poison is discussed. Finally, the paper summarizes the tactic of prevention and rescue for a long road tunnel fire.By way of analyzing, the paper offers the phase of a tunnel fire and the partition in a firing tunnel. At the same time, mainly considering the intensity of fire sources and air velocity, the paper presents the rule of temperature, pressure and smoke distribution in a tunnel fire. In virtue of it, the paper provides some methods and advices for structure protection, scheme of equipment collocation, magnitude of air velocity in tunnel fire, restricted distance for vehicle, requirement of detection and alarm instrument, and human fleeing in fire. Considering fire protection, the paper emphasizes that the subsystem of fire detection and alarm, fire control, ventilation and communication and so on must be established perfectly.
