In recent years, studies on performance-based seismic design are taking out around the researchers of earthquake engineering in the world. The seismic performance of existing buildings would degrade due to circumstance and other reasons. To access the seismic damage of buildings rationally, the seismic performance and the hysteretic model of existing buildings must be studied, and the seismic damage of existing buildings must be accessed. The corrosion of the bars is one of the main reasons of the decline of the seismic performance of existing buildings. In this paper, 10 reinforced concrete members were laid out of room for more than one year, then accelerated corrosion tests were carried out for reinforcing steels embedded in concrete by electrochemical method, and then the members were put into pond, thus they were experienced in dry and wet environment. The corroded members were put to experiments under repeated horizontal loading and different axial compressive ratio. Through experiments the influence of reinforcement corrosion and axial compressive ratio on Hie bearing capacity, stiflhess, ductility and energy dissipation of the members were discussed. Hysteretic and skeleton curve for the corrosion members were obtained One hysteretic model was given based on the experiment date. Based on the existing seismic damage models, one damage model for the evaluating of existing members under earthquake was given.
