For more years, the welded members of steel structure are more popular than the rolled ones in China, but as is well known, the mechanical performance of welded members are effected by many factors: such as the material property of plates, the heat effect during welding process, the residual stress, the weld techniques and so on . In recent years, with the production of homemade H-section steel members, the above-mentioned factors have been well improved. But at present, the study on homemade H-section steel members are far from perfect. Based on this status, the in-plane stability capacity for homemade rolled H-section steel columns under eccentric load is analyzed in this paper .The inelastic finite element solution considering both large-deflection and plastic extension is used to analyze eccentric-loading columns in this paper. The stability capacity of different slendemess ration and eccentricity are calculated, the residual stresses and their influence upon the steel eccentric-loading columns are emphasizedly discussed, at the same time ten steel columns were achieved . A modified formula is brought foreword to criterion, which provide reference for design department.
