In this paper, the simulation on naval ship's motion and load in waves are studied on the basis of strip theory. Equations on the ship's motion are set up and as a result, the load is calculated. The simulation is proceed under the model by using MFC of Visual ++6.0. The real-time animated simulation is made with the combination the process with OpenGL 3D graph library. So visualization in the prediction of ship's motion and load are studied.The mathematical models on ship's motion and load are based on the strip theory. At the same time, the motion and load is mathematically simulated and the result is visualized with the real-time graph. The OpenGL is also used to model the hull and waves, and the polygon and regular gridding method are discussed. The real-time 3D animated simulation system on the ship in waves is developed.At last, 3D modeling and simulation concering the container ships are studied, such as FLOKSTRA, the result of numerical calculation are contrasted, both the real-time of the system and the fidelity of the picture achieve a satisfying effect.
