The low-head water power resource distributes widely but non-homogeneous in China, part of it is valuable to be developed, part of it is difficult to be developed, the runoff condition differs largely because of the limited geological conditions. The austral rivers have larger annual runoff volume and relatively less silt content; The boreal rivers have less annual runoff volume and relatively larger silt content, these make some difference in lectotype on turbine.According to runoff difference of original conditions, in association with some mature experience , new methods.This paper perfects better the design methods of low-head power station without storage.The main results of this paper are as follows:(1) By controlling several key parameters such as design specific speed( ns ), design head of turbine( Hd ) and rated head( Hr ), runner diameter of turbine (D1) and rated speed( nr), unit discharge(Q11) and unit speed(n11 ) etc, we can make part of them match perfectly and makelectotype on turbine more reasonable according to consulted conventional design methods.(2) Low-head power stations without storage are mostly belong to riverbed power stations,water head loss of diversion system account for a large part in the computing water head,so the water head loss from infall to draft tube outlet must be consided.(3) Rated water head of power stations without storage is the water head that determines the basic dimension of hydraulic turbine,so is the water head which decides the size of plant construction. The computing water head Hd of hydraulic turbine of low-head power stations without storage should vary between the maximum water head Hmax and mean water head Hw , and approach to Hmax ,in order to arrive the goal that the hydraulic turbine has a high efficiency when runoff is small in low water period. During the flood season hydraulic turbine should pursuit the set power, prevent from pursuiting efficiency and decrease the loss of abandoned water,so the power station has the maximum power generating capacity.(4) The author expatiates on the concept not matching the Chinese Standard, Specification and discusses some engineering problems,those make lectotype and design on turbine more standard and international.
