At present insulation-monitoring of power equipments mostly has focused on the single equipment or single monitoring item, and the comprehensive insulation-monitoring system, which can be employed by several equipments and can monitor more monitoring item, has not been developed yet. This thesis aims at developing common software for monitoring insulation condition of several power equipments, and the software was constructed base on a intersectional structure like matrix. Taking partial discharge as the first monitoring item, this thesis designed a database that can save, retrieve, input or output, plot partial discharge data, and constructed a system of data subjects that can be applied to partial discharge detection and discharge type recognition. As an instance of this software when applied to monitor a certain power equipment, a subsystem used to monitor partial discharge(PD) of generator was developed based on this software, which can analyse, process, plot two-dimension and three-dimension statistic, calculate 48 statistical parameters of two-dimension spectrums such as n-φ,qave-φ,qavN-φ和qmax-φ, Besides, this thesis put forward a criterion for discharge type recognition based on probability distribution, and analysed above parameters' feasibility by this criterion when they were used to identify delamination PD, end winding PD and slot PD. As another application instance, a subsystem monitoring ultra-high frequency partial discharge of transformer is developed, which can analyse, process, plot time-domain PD data and demodulated PD data, besides, it also has such discharge type recognition function as spectrum calculation and auto correlation.
