In this paper, based on the relative theories of two-phase hydrodynamics, some recent techniques, e.g. System Simulation and Intelligent Control, are used to accomplish three studies below. Firstly, some typical and familiar fluid dynamic characteristics during pneumatic conveying are researched, analyzed and compared, and the broad mapping between Renault number and drag coefficient is set up. Then, some dynamic simulation models are built to describe the whole movements of grains and groups of grains during pneumatic conveying, and to explain the interrelations between some variables. Finally, based on the theories of Fuzzy Control, two certain fuzzy controllers are designed and the simulation models of corresponding control system are established to realize the determinate adjust and control of two important parameters during pneumatic conveying, which are nearly impossible with the routine methods. It is obtained by simulation experiments that these controllers may rapidly and calmly react and the effects of control are satisfying. The result of the researches above show that we are offered a new approach to studying the theories and applications of pneumatic conveying by System Simulation and Intelligent Control, and it is convenient to make farther studies under the help of those results of simulation experiments.
