As the wide-span transmission lines are widely used, the related professionals and scientists increasingly pay attention to aeolian vibration .The paper is written with reference to a research project entrusted by NanJing line Accessories Institute, based on the application of physics in engineering technology, it expounds the important sectors about transmission line from aspects of anti-vibration design and its application. Chapter one analyses the physical process of aeolian vibration of transmission lines in addition to the essential theory about anti-vibration, and chapter two introduces the development of the design and practical application of damper and the research work at home and abroad. Although there have been lots of achievements and accumulated a wealth of experience, how to prevent the aeolian vibration effectively is still a question, which has not been solved, and some new problems often appear in transmission lines practical performance. Chapter three analysis various factors affecting the function of damper and offers some methods to improve the quality and function of damper. Chapter four and five make an analysis of the mechanics pattern of vibration and offer the vibration equation of transmission line, on the basis of which a method of determining installment point of damper precisely is drawn.
