With proper design and reliable construction, reinforced concrete structure owns good durability in normal surroundings. But if the conditions mentioned above can not be attained, the usage performance and endurance will be damaged because of the corrosion of steel tendons. The economic loss due to rebar corrosion adds up to tens of billions US dollars aboard. In China, the problem of rebar corrosion is increasingly serious in every kinds of constructions, especially in some bridges and marine structures built in many years ago. To resolve the problem, experts have found several measures in many years study. One of them is the application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) tendons. This way proved to be dependable in present time. CFRP tendon is a new composite material manufactured by special technology, it has many advantages such as high-strength, low-density, better corrosion-resistant and so on, so it can potentially replace steel tendons in normal concrete structures and prestressed concrete structures, particularly in areas where corrosion is a problem.This paper describes the experiment about the CFRP tendons produced by a factory in Nanjing. The experiment includes three parts. In the first part, we tested the coherence of the CFRP tendons with concrete, epoxy resin and neat cement grout and got the cohesion strength correspondingly. Base on these data, we pointed out the problem of the tendons and provided the solution method. In the second part, we researched the bending strength of CFRP tendon concrete beams, analysed the function of bearing, deflection and crack of the beams and got the conclusion. In addition, we carried on the simulation analysis about the beams by the finite element analysis software ANSYS, so that we can get a comprehensive summing-up. In the last part, we researched the bending strength of post-tensioned and cohesionless CFRP tendon concrete beams. In this part we summarized the performance of bearing, deflection and crack of the beams. At the same time, we introduced the research about the anchorage device and the prestressing loss.The conclusion of the paper is about the CFRP tendons we studied, but the interrelated study methods and some conclusion can be consulted in similar researches. In the latter research about the application of CFRP tendons in concrete structures, this paper will give full play to its effect.
