Giant Magnetostrictive Material is a new kind of intelligent material. It has the following virtues: good magnetic retractility, rapid response, and high energy density, so it interests scholars all over the world. Based on the characteristics of the giant magnetostrictive material and the requirements of the industrial devices/systems, this article tends a more precise, adapting to active vibration control Giant Magnetostrictive Actuator (GMA). The improvement of this article is structure design of GMA, analysis of electricmagetic characteristics, ampliflcatory power system, testing equipments and cooling system.On structure design aspect, a closed magnetic route around the GMM is formed, so magnetic symmetry and intension of GMM are improving ;on analysis of electricmagetic characteristics aspect, Ansys software is applied to analyze the GMA to optimize its structure; on ampliflcatory power system aspect, based on the characteristic of driving power of GMA and the principle of constant current source, a power amplifier using power MOSFET is designed; on testing equipments aspect, Measure bracket is designed including transom, stand beam, screw, pedestal; on cooling system aspect, a constant temperature cooling system is designed theorily.Then the trait of the GMA is tested including static and dynamic. The static test composes of static displacement and static force. The dynamic test composes of dynamic displacement, dynamic force and dynamic stagnancy. At last, generalize investigation result and prospect later research.
