With our country becoming a formal member of WTO, the pace of our economic construct has been accelerated. Engineering-machine plays an important part in many projects. The cranes not only are auxiliary machine but also become indispensable mechanism in flow process. Structure served as principal and key part play a role of framework. Compared to box structure truss structure has much peculiarity such as weight, material and deform. So many kinds of crane use truss structure as their structure form. Meanwhile, the fact these truss structure has the same or similar shape bring the necessity that should be design in template mode.Because of the intensity of market-compete if a winner must put products in market on the condition of the lest time, the best quality and the lest cost. Design plays a very important role during science and technology transforming the competitive product. The design method has a fundamental change because of the improvement of control-technology, computer and applied-math. How to apply these new theory, new method and new technology that are centralized in the university to reality becomes a urgent task. So the template is not only the summery but also a job how to turn the design mode based on experience to based on finite element analysis, computer-aid-design, reliable design and so on.This essay does some attemptable work in the above aspect by means of the template research of truss structure intellectual design based on FEA. First the fundamental theory used as in this template has been put forward such as finite element analysis, optimal design, artificial neural network etc. after that, how to use these theory complete the task of the template has been illustrated in detail through the example of Zhongyuan Rail crane structure.In programmer design aspect, a kindly platform help general engineering personnel easily complete design task even if they have not complex mechanics and finite element knowledge, which complete template task and transform of design based on experience to modern design.The thinking and method of template design is focal point in this essay.There are many kinds of crane, but the laws exist because they are themselves used in different aspect. So the supplement to this template is expected.
