In this paper, an organic combination of surface molding and numerical calculation is applied to optimization design for centrifugal pump impellers. By adopting surface molding to obtain solving region and then carrying out numerical calculation and analysis of flow field in centrifugal pump, accurate remodification information is obtained and optimized impellers which have excellent fluid dynamics capacity is schemed out.Speed-coefficient law is used to obtain the basic parameters of centrifugal pump impellers. The method takes advantage of Bezier Curve to work out a set of blade profiles of centrifugal pump, using thickening law to thicken the profiles. Then the pressure and suction lines of the blade can be obtained. It takes advantage of Bezier surface to create pressure and suction surface and makes use of MDT software to create the three-dimensional blade entity. Then the computational flow region can be obtained. It adopts Reynolds time-average N-S equation and k- ?turbulence model to calculate the inner 3-D viscid turbulence flow of centrifugal pump. In the unstructured grid, the governing equations are discretized with Finite Volume Method based on Finite Element Method. Then the pressure correction method is used to carry out numerical calculation. According to aforesaid, the paper has used the method in example. Through analysis of the prototype pump, it puts forward two remodification approaches and solves them. By comparing optimized pump with prototype pump, the optimization design is proved to be successful.
