Intelligent structure, an integration of sensors, actuators, microprocessors, and structural base materials together, is capable of recognizing, estimating and actuating. It can base on the characteristics of the controlled object, working environment and the control requirement, and relies on mechanics principle to reduce the harmful vibration. In the paper, the major work is putting forward the new engineering methods on control law and optimal configuration rule by the research in the uniform cantilever beam with actuators and transducers. The structure model and the movement equation are built with IMSC. The existing active vibration control methods and their control effects are reviewed and analyzed. According to the engineering practice, a multi-target based secondary correction control law is promoted and further verified by numerical simulations. The effects of frequency characteristic are researched which reduced by length, thickness and the placement. Controllability optimization criteria of actuators' configuration are studied with a new controllability energy based criteria integrated, and optimization result is got. The experiment of intelligent structures has been studied, and the new control law and optimal configure rule have been validated through the experiment results.
