ABSTRACT In this thesis, we deliberate novel working electrolytes used in high-voltage(160V) wet tantalum capacitor, and studied the influence of the workingelectrolytes on the electrical performance of the capacitor. After theoretic analysis of the electrochemical process occurring at theanodic interface, cardinal influencing factors of broken-voltage are revealedsystematically. Together with cathodic capacitance theory and depolarizingmechanism, they provide us with research guidance. The degression of Ta2O5 dielectric film intension induced by electronicemission of oxygenic ion and electrostriction are fundamental causes of lighteningphenomenon. Methods to enhance the broken-voltage of working electrolyteshould focus on avoiding the harm of harmful ion to Ta2O5 dielectric film. Experiments show that proper organic agents inducted into the workingelectrolyte could be adsorbed at the interface of the Ta2O5 dielectric film, and helpto reduce the effective consistence and the charge of negative ion. Thus they couldincrease the broken-voltage to above 200V. On the basis of high broken–voltage, the working electrolyte should also has high conductance and high mendingability. Depolarizing agents added to the working electrolyte could help toattenuate the catholic double-electronic layer, improve the conductance . The performance of the capacitors using the electrolytes we invented basedon above theory is superior to the requirement of this project.
