Since 1950s, the environment has experienced great change owing to human activities, and in the mean time, there have been a lot of global environment problems coming forth. With the burgeoning of population, the development of industry, agriculture and the following urbanization, the large-scale human activities have changed the hydrologic cycle in natural state, for instance, the irrigation , wastewater discharging and water conservancy projects have transformed the quality and quantity of the hydrologic cycle in time and space. In our country, although some researches on the impacts of human activities on water resource have been carried on, there still aren't recognized models about the proportion of the human activities impact on the water resource change. Based on the research on environmental change and driving factors of Qinling areas, this paper paid more attention to the environmental variation caused by human factors. The results are as follows:1. The distribution of water resource is not equal between the northern and southern Qinling, and in the south region water resource is abundant while in the north it is scarce. But the distribution of population is the very reverse. Furthermore, the population in northern region increases more rapidly than the south. And at the same time the per capita water resource is declining in both areas.2. There is a good coupling between the degree of the natural frangibility and the density of population and the water resource of per capita. In Guanzhong area the high frangibility coupled with the high density of population and low level of per capita water resource, while in the south the low frangibility coupled well with the low density of population and high level of the per capita water resource. And there is a negative correlativity between the growth of population and the environmental frangibility.3. The annual runoff of the Hanjiang and Weihe are reducing year after year. In absolute quantity, the decrease of the runoff of Hangjiang is more than Weihe, while in relative quantity the decrease of the runoff of Hangjiang is less than Weihe.4. There is extremely pronounced difference in the agricultural water-use between the south and north Qinling. The area of irrigable land in Guanzhong is 15 times as that of southern Qinling. The change of the runoff could result in the change of the area of the paddy field. The effective irrigation area in Guanzhong area is more than southern Qinling,5. The households-use water is increasing year by year both in the south and north region of Qinling. The proportion of the non-agricultural population is gradually increasing, which in Guanzhong is 3.5 times as that in southern Qinling.6. With the increase of productivity of industry, the consumption of water is increasing, and the pollution of water is becoming serious, so the gap of the available water resource in the two regions is becoming wider.7. In recent years, the air temperature is increasing and the precipitation is decreasing in Guanzhong. So the rebuilding of the ecosystem should mostly be based on the natural restore, and artificial measures should play the assistant role, while in southern Qinling both methods can be used.
