The stress-strain relation of soil is a key to the earthwork calculation.In the project, the action of stress is very complex,in order to analyse the stress-strain relationship of soil.many model theorise have been developed. But each theory has its merit and demerit. For example, the famous modified Cambridge model can display the elastic- plastic property of soil, but it can not display the rheological behavior of soil. Although Model Kormanura-Huang takes into account the property of visco-elastic-plastic, and can display the rheological behavior of soil, its considering on the property of plastic is very simple,so,the model can only apply for perfect plastic material. Sometimes, some silty soil ,super soft soil, because of its high compressibility, low strength, high water component, high dexterousity, has notable rheological behavior. Along with the development of the economy,all types of engineering project are being constructed, at the same time , the requirement of stress and strenth of soil is being more rigorous, so developing model which can display visco-elastic-plastic stress-strain relation nicely is very important.In the resent years, our state invests much for important engineering projects, irrigation works, expressway, underground and so on. As huge engineerings deal with complex foundation condition, there are often poor foundation, and because the engineerings are very important ,the their request for stress is more rigorous than common ones .This paper establishs a new model on the base of recognition of visco-elastic-plastic stress-strain relation, considering data of rheological experiment of soil. Using least squar method ,the parameters of the new model can be ascertained, by calculating an engineering using FEM programme, an encouraging phenomenon appeared that the calculating result is more close to the spot value than other models are, so it is clear that the new model is good for applying, worthing for more extensive use. What my material work is:1. Analyse the rheological property of soft soil ,develop a new model and educe the stress-strain-time relation of the model.2. Aiming at new model, ascertain the parameter of the new model using least squar method.3. Calculate the post-work settlement of the FuNing LuYang engineering project, and estimate the model.
