In this paper, the method of fuzzy logic control is used in the design of the control laws for an automatic terrain following flight control system .The shortcoming of the traditional fuzzy logic controller is overcome and an improved method is presented.The main research work of the thesis is summarized as follows:1. The improved fuzzy logic control methodThe phenomenon of steady-state errors and flutter exists in the traditional fuzzy controller. An improved fuzzy controller without quantilizing is presented. It can overcome the shortcomings mentioned above.2. Design of the control laws for an automatic terrain followingPI and Fuzzy controllers by using and ny method are designed fordifferent feedback signals.A method of control height and height rate is presented. The simulation and comparison results are provided.3. Design of the control laws for an automatic terrain avoidanceThe PI and Fuzzy control laws are designed for the Terrain Avoidance flight control system. The simulation and comparison results are also given.4. TF/TA digital simulationThe simulation results for PI and Fuzzy control methods are given and compared for a given terrain.5. Direct lift control in TFThe direct lift control method (vertical translation mode) is used in the terrain following flight control system. The dynamic inversion+PI and dynamic+Fuzzy control methods are adopted and the simulation results are provided.
