The paper discussed the running mode of thermoelectric power plant based on its characteristic and function. A thermoelectric power plant is placed in an especial status in the electric power system running. Firstly, it is a difficulty research task to set down the electric curve of thermoelectric power plant, so the paper gives result of electric curve of some thermoelectric generators and analyzed their thermal economy. Secondly, because a few plant could not run obey its rule of "electric power defined by its quantity of heat produced", the paper discussed the standardization of management to those plant and defined the relationship of plant and grid. Lastly, the paper put forward that we must manage power plant using market economic means.
