In this paper, the SMW wall is summarized roundly, the physical characters ofcement-soil as materials of diaphragm wall, such as its strength theory and itsconstitutive relation, are summarized systematically. The bending tests of small shaped steel and cement-soil composite beamspecimens were done by the author. The author has analyzed the load and thedistortion of composite beams and the stress-strain relation of shaped steel andcement-soil. Moreover, the load ,the composite stiffness and the breakage modeof composite beams were analyzed in detail. At the same time, theoreticalanalysis for interaction are conducted based on three interaction form, thencomposite stiffness formulas were got. The finite-element method was applied to analyze models of composite beams,and the finite-element result are in good agreement with measured data. The measurement at the site are presented in the Honghuli subway stationbuilding site in Tianjin, and the application of SMW was got.
