The water supply system is the important foundation of subsistence anddevelopment of all industries. In the modern society, the rapiddevelopment of the nation economy and the serious lack of water resourcerequire the municipal water supply system to meet a higher demand. Thetraditional municipal water supply network management cannot realize thereal time, effective, reasonable and optimized configuration and controlto the distribution and utilization of water resource and result in vastwaste of water resource. Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computersystem which uses the modern computer science and database technology toinput, save, handle, display and output the spatial information andattributes data. Municipal water supply pipeline network GeographicInformation System is an integration management system that uses the GIStechnology and water supply technology to collect, manage, update, synthesize, analyze and handle the municipal water supply pipelineinformation. Components GIS represents the trend of GIS and MapObjectsis a powerful Components GIS development tool. C# language is the newestcomputer language designed by Microsoft special for Microsoft .NETframework development. Using MapObjects and C# language, the paperdeveloped the municipal water supply pipeline network geographicinformation system framework following principles of reliability, practicability, extensibility, security and economy. The system hasrealized the pipeline network spatial data management, data query andanalysis, user information management, property management and emergencyanalysis functions. The pipeline network spatial data and attributes dateare combined. Not only work together, but also easily updated dynamically. So the system can improve the efficiency and quality of the pipeline IIAbstractnetwork management greatly and give directly and effective managementmeans for managing, maintaining and planning of the municipal facilitiesand give scientific support for municipal bureaus administrantdecision-making.
