To resolve the slump-loss of the concrete adding superplasticizers and get better performance, a new superplasticizer, polyaminobenzenesuflate (HP) was developed. Based on the key groups theory, its structure was modified through graft and condensation, and the relation between chemical structure of the superplasticizers and its properties were discussed, carboxylic acid and phenol, which have the properties of water-reducing and retarding, were added to the polymer through polymerization and graft. The technical parameters were optimized through experiments. Different functional groups were proved through FI-IR and NMR, and the key is to make different groups reasonably chained with the key group. The water-reducing ratio was 20% at 0.3%~0.4%dosage of the cement weight, the slump-loss in 3h was reduced greatly.The properties of the new superplasticizer were studied by comparison with napHthyl type, including its effects on the fluidity and the slump-loss of cement paste and concrete; its effects on the strength of the cement was also investigated. It has a good compatibility with cements of different types. The water-reducing and slump-retaining theories of the HP were discussed.HP superplasticizer was developed through structure design, formulation control and application. The product is environment friendly, shows good performance with low ratio, and its cost is reasonable.
