The development of electric power industry and the advancement of technology related to relaying protection provide the unprecedented opportunity and challenge to research microcomputer relaying protection equipment. At the same time, the technique of micro-electronic, computer and communication supply stronger prime power to research and develop the microcomputer relaying protection equipment. Present theory about microcomputer line protection exists certain shortage. Such as, over long pull-out time of backup protection, limited means of fault detection to protection and difficulty to diagnosis and locate fault. The latest digital signal processing slug (TMS320C32) was adopted in this paper. A set of microcomputer line protection equipment was selected and designed. Which mainly study the part of man-machine interface. The software of man-machine interface was compiled and debugged. The theory of microcomputer line protection was studied based on the hardware applied Agent technique.
