This paper, applying test stress analysis method- electromotive stress analysis method, has made experimental research into the results of shape optimization of transition curve of the shaft of viable section, after the theoretical analysis on shape optimization of the axial symmetry body.Boundary element method has been introduced to do stress analysis on shape optimization, restriction and change scale method as the optimization method, and minimization of stress centralization factor as the optimization goal, the trice splines have been introduced to define the viable boundary, through the optimization design of the transition curve of shoulder of spindle, the shape, shafts of which have the minimal stresscentralization factor, is achieved.By the electromotive stress analysis on eight pieces of specimens under the torsion and bend, it is acquired that the results of shape optimization design, by the combination of boundary element method as the tool of the stress analysis with the optimization technique, are basically consistent with the test results, which validates the rationality of the shape optimization, so this shape optimization design method can be generalized to use in the mechanical design.
