In 21st century, people are faced two problems: energy crisis and worsened environment. The countermeasures of sustainable use of energy resources are put forward.Along with the development of automobile industry and the rapid increase of automobile amount, the environmental problem is even worse. To develop green-vehicle is the growing trend in automotive technology. In recent years, the application of gas-vehicle has been popularized.Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is a mixture of butane and propane. A specific feature of these hydrocarbons is that they can turn to liquid even at room temperature and at relatively low pressure (about 0.5~1MPa). Liquefied petroleum gas can be easily stored and transported in a liquid state with high energy density. The vehicles that run on liquefied petroleum gas have fewer combustion deposits and lower emissions based on present-day legislation, and the throttles aren't reduced. For its technical advantages in comparison with diesel/petrol engine, dual-fuel engine is widely used.In this paper the research work has been put on the Model 490Q engine by changing the diesel/LPG dual-fuel technique through using ECU to control the air feed mode of the inlet channel blender. Contrastive test results of performance can be obtained when separately using diesel and diesel/LPG dual-fuel.The result shows that when using diesel/LPG dual-fuel the engine's power is increased .At low-load the economy viability of the dual-fuel engine is better than the diesel engine, however at high-load the diesel engine is better. As for the exhaust emission, the smoke level is considerably decreased, and NOx emission level is debased also.
