At global the rapid developments of information technologies, the rises of intelligent buildings, make the change of the life style and handle official business work has take place silently in the ideas of people. There are a lot of communications and information systems exist in intelligent building. All of them are low-voltage equipment. How about to prevent the danger to the intelligent building information system from being struck by lightning electromagnetic impulse (LEMP) effectively, reduce the direct and indirect losses that caused by lightning electromagnetic impulse, which should be mainly considered question to the lightning defenses design of intelligent buildings.The research mainly around the invasions by lightning electromagnetic impulse to intelligent buildings is being discussed in this article, the pertinence design including realization frame and technological detail has proposed to protect information system against LMEP. The thesis has recommended the exploration course and current situation and development trend of the building lightning protection at first simply, Secondly make an detailed analysis and study to lightning production mechanism and the characteristic of lightning current wave, Draw a conclusion that the energies of lightning current wave distribute through low frequency mainly through the emulations of lightning mathematical models. Then the author try to analyses the origin cause of formation in LEMP, and study the coupling way and invading way to information system, which including the space, grounding and in-line. It can make a promise to design to lightning protection that have an object in view. Among them, Shielding technology is to cut off the space coupling way to the information system of LEMP, Equipotential Bonding and Earthing technology prevent information system from LEMP formed ground electric current pulses interfere, It can prevent the striking surge that spread through power and signal line destroy the information port by using surge protective devices effectively. At last, the author study the load characteristic and available protection distance and cooperation in multilevel surge protective devices in this article, And on the basis of this, the author has proposed a flow chart to the surge protective devices design, It has strengthened the dependability and economics in lightning protect design. Shielding and Equipotential Bonding and Earthing and Surge Protective Devices (SPD) are three kinds of daily technological means in lightningprotecting, Mutually combine the three technological means effectively, can realize the shelter effective to the information systems.
