This paper describes research jobs involved in the important sub items of Multi mode MERS (Marine Engine Room Simulation) Integrated Simulation System, which is supported by the Shanghai Science and Technology Development Fund. In the project, MAN B&W M/E remote control system of huge container vessels of COSCO was adopted as a simulated object, MEPCS (Main Engine Pneumatic Control System) with vivid mimic panel were designed and constructed, the real time closed-loop simulation equipment was built and fault emulation of pneumatic control system were developed by the aid of the technologies of computer, control and communication.Along with the development of MERC (main engine remote control) system, the exploration of its performance simulation is on the upgrade. Our university has successfully developed SMSC-2000 MERS in 1999, based on which this dissertation investigated and realized some new techniques for MERS, such as some models of regulation, control and execution components in loop. The system could not only be united with the SMSC-2000 MERS, but also realize the real-time simulation as a unique system. Its mainly characteristics are:(1) MERC real time simulation system was built up and integrated by DIFA41 MERC equipment, W/H control console, ECR control console, ER control console, Propeller Simulator, and MEPCS system. It was the sincerity reduction of real automation marine engine control and operation system which contains "Hardware In The Loop", and can be joined with host net while the correlation parameters wereunder online test.(2) The simulative flywheel was set in the Propeller Simulator to emulate the mechanism inertia part. The Propeller was driven by a reversible engine to simulate the main engine. The warp of the present rotate speed and real measured speed was operated according to the inherence regulation rule, and then the main engine oil supply control signal would be gained and send to the load limited part. Thus it realized "Online Closed-loop Simulation" of MERC.(3) The faults of MERC will bring the main engine working in abnormal, and reduce its run quality. If faults couldn't be recognized and eliminated in time, they will be spread and the system will be paralyzed. So it is necessary to develop the fault simulation of MERC to recuperate sailormen's automation principle knowledge and strengthen their ability in solving components fault. The FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) method was adopted to analyze the top event of certain function, and three-grade fault tree of least path volume was founded. The task studied the uniform modeling methods of some high fault rate valves of the pneumatic control valve. The fault simulation is close to the reality fault of MERC, and the fault simulation analysis could directly service the vessel.(4) Industrial computer used to accomplishes the dynamic data communication and real time simulation control of peripheral equipments. Based on OO (Object Oriented) method, the application program had a friendly man-computer interface. The computer sent command to the main engine and received its real time data, such as rotation speed and feed oil quantity, by serial interface. And then data processing, display and accumulation would be completed.For the stormy waves disturbance simulation of main engine model that was based on ARM+DSP, the technology of applying DSP to complete the rotation speed filter disposal is being explored to enable the MEPCS reflect exterior execution components' action under the main engine mathematics model.In first chapter of the paper, the task backgrounds are recommended. Then, the construction of MAN B&W marine engine control system is briefly introduced in thechapter 2. Chapter 3 is devoted to an introduction of structure and function of Simulation System of Pneumatic Operation for Marine Engine, which was developed by proper motion, emphasizing its features of real-time online closed-loop control and Hardware In The Loop simulation.
