Research On The Dry Load Apparatus For Offshore Platform Generator Unit

Before the offshore platform is put into production, we must debug the generator unit to ensure that they can run a long time safely and reliably with the electric power system. In order to truly reflect its going after production, it is the company's urgent need to select a proper loading scheme and develop an advanced and reliable load apparatus which can be in common use.This paper analyzes and summarizes on the basis of the monographic study "research of dry load apparatus". Absorbing some advanced experience home and abroad, a series of difficult problems are overcame in this paper under the use of theory of power electronics, electric machine, hydrodynamics, heat transmit and tool of computers and programmable controller. The problems mainly focus on the followings; current distortion caused by combination of voltage regulator and resistor and generator's ability to bare equivalent negative current; structure type selection of resistor and reactor and temperature calculation under the condition of element heating and forced wind cooling; running controlled by microcomputer and programmable controller with the result showing. Finally advanced and applicable product is developed which not only meets company's need but also saves a lot of money.
