With more and more strict requirement for vehicle exhaust emission standards from the nation,the exhaust emissions from the light-duty truck installed with EQ491i gasoline engine the emissions of the whole truck must meet EURO II limit.Therefore, Dongfeng Motor Co. in cooperation with UASE developed three-way catalytic conversion system. By many times of engine bench test and running hub test, various factors which influence the performance and durability of three-way catalytic converter have been researched and analyzed detailedly. Meanwhile, the structure material and manufacture process of three-way catalytic converter have been explained detailedly, The solidified data of three-way catalytic converter installed in light-duty truck have been got various factors which influence the performance and durability of three-way catalytic converter have been grasped, and put forward several measures for improvement and protection . Hence, three-way catalytic converter and engine, as well as exhaust system of the whole vehicle have been well matched . Finally, the emission level of light-duty track with EQ491i gasoline engine has met EUROâ…¡ Standard. This dissertation introduces the application and development process of three-way catalytic converter in light-duty truck, which has laid very good foundation for introduction of three-way catalytic converter.
