With the resources being used continuously, the energy structure based on conventional energy resources will not more and more adapt to requirement of sustainable development. So accelerating the exploitation and utilization of renewable resources that solar energy is principle part has been our common ideas. Using the clean solar light energy, the technology of photovoltaic generating electricity is very promising. But in the field of photovoltaic system there is the problem that many people only pay attention to research of photovoltaic system hardware, ignore the research of system design methods. The thesis presents a new optimal design method.This thesis introduces photovoltaic system and its running condition in outline, puts forward mathematical models for every part of system, including solar energy, optimum angle of inclination, generation of photovoltaic array, capacity of storage battery and load. On the principle of system energy loss minimum, a system optimal design is put forward and a optimal software is done with Visual Basic 6.0,Which selects equitable the capacity of the photovoltaic array and storage battery. According to the design method, a photovoltaic system comes into being. An experiment on the photovoltaic system is done for verifying validity the design method.At the same time, a photovoltaic system data acquisition software is developed with Visual Basic 6.0.The software uniting data collector has practical value. Running status of the photovoltaic system can be easily known.
