Planning Of Woody Landscape Plants Of Hubei Province

Based on the field survey, data collection and statistics of tree resources in the typical plant community and the natural vegetation abundant areas in Shennongjia nature reserve, Wudangshan nature reserve, Xingdoushan nature reserve, Jiugongshan nature reserve, Tiantangzhai forest park, and the landscape trees' resource, growth effects and the application situation in the selected typical cities of Wuhan, Yichang, Shiyan, Xiangfan, Enshi, Huangshi, Xiantao, Daye, Xianning etc., and combined with the planning of city system of Hubei Province, the trends and further requirements of urban greenings and the natural vegetation distribution of Hubei Province, this research, aiming at providing the data and scientific bases for the further development and construction of urban green system, undertook the zoning and planning of tree species of the cities of Hubei Province.The main results shown as follows:(1)The woody landscape plants of Hubei province could be divided into 5 areas: (A) The high mountain cities in southwest; (B), The the high mountain cities in northwest; (C), The the low mountain and hill cities in north; (D), The medium high mountain cities in southeast; (E), The lakefront and waterfront cities in Jianghan plain.(2)The regional vegetation shows as various communities landscapes, in which the mix forest of subtropical evergreen and deciduous broadleaves is the main type. All communities are abundant of various tree species which have great application potential in the urban green space.(3) However, the sum of possible tree species planted in urban green spaces currently is limited in general. 448 tree species were recorded in Wuhan while 252 in Yichang, and less than 200 in other surveyed cities. For the common used species of the woody landscape plants, 202 species in Wuhan and less than 100 in others and the repetition rate of the species planted in different cities is quite high.(4)According to the guideline,objective,principle of the planning of woody landscape plants, the author planed urban fundamental key trees, key trees and general trees of each zoning area of Hubei Province.
