At present, with the constant enlargement of the scale of the scientific research laboratory in the university and the constant increase of laboratory staff and equipment, the construction of the laboratory of scientific research in the university has already become an important subject in front of us. This needs a kind of safe, reliable and effective measure to manage it, which can provide it free of outside human factor to effect the laboratory and make the staff member and visitor in the laboratory to be more safe and convenient, at the same time it can prevent outlying personnel pass in and out and break into the laboratory illegally, accordingly offer more convenient condition to the scientific research and learning.Owing to the above situation, a kind of fingerprint entrance guard system, which is used in the safety management of the laboratory has been put forward in this paper. It applies the computer technology to the security management systems in the laboratory, and has synthesized the control technology, communication, fingerprint technology and video monitor to finish design of the system.At first, the fingerprint characteristics and basic principle of fingerprint recognition have been analyzed and the popular fingerprint capture technologies have been compared. Their equipments and their merits and shortcomings have also been introduced. On the basis of this, combine the use of SQL Server data base, utilize Visual C++6.0 which is easy to operate the hardware and be of the characteristic of easy to expand function and maintain to program the application software of fingerprint entrance guard's system and video monitor subsystem. Utilize FDU2000 as fingerprint capture equipment machine, it realized the fingerprint register function, fingerprint recognition function, verify function and transmission of open the lock and alarm signal.Secondly, circuit of hardware and corresponding software of entrance guard's controller have been designed. This circuit includethe minimal system of 98C51, +5V power circuit, RS-232 interface circuit and turn on the lock promptly circuit and alarm circuit. At the same time, with the assembler language asynchronous serial communication procedure of the entrance guard' s controller with upper computer and the output procedures of different order signals has been finished.At last, the video monitor subsystem on the basis of video capture card has been dissertated. This system utilizes VC++6. 0 to realize the programming of the video capture card, accordingly get the video picture of the control area. It realized such functions as the real-time displaying, recording, dynamic detect of the video picture of the monitor area and also the transmission of the alarming signal and so on. The video monitor subsystem and the laboratory fingerprint entrance control system synthesized the integrated laboratory fingerprint entrance control system. In addition, this video monitoring system software can also be applied as an independent video monitoring system in other situations.
