The flying development of modern telecommunication technology has being endowed mobile phones with diverse and powerful functions. Mobiles can be used to send text messages as well as transmit data. The thesis focuses on telemedicine Electrocardiogram Monitoring system with ECG being transmitted by mobiles.The system consists of two parts: the recording device carried by patients and the monitoring software installed in PCs of hospitals. New patient can leave the hospital after he has registered. As soon as the patient does not fell well, he can record his ECG immediately. Then he can dial the telephone number of the hospital. The monitoring software in the hospital first checkes the patient's identity, then receive ECG data transmitted by mobiles. After that, doctors can analyze the ECG and then tell the patient what to do. For heart diseases are characterized by attacking suddenly, the system can capture abnormal ECG which can hardly be checked in usual ways. So this system provides most valuable information for diagnosis of heart diseases.In the thesis, a portable recording device is designed by using an AYR microcontroller and FLASH memories which are the products of America' ATMEL company. The device communicates with mobiles through RS-232. Controlled by the microcontroller,the device can record ECG precisely and then transmit it to the monitoring software. The monitoring software has been developed with VC++6.0. It has such functions as receiving ECG and then showing the wave on the screen ^ printing and database management.Wavelet transform is a time-frequency analytical method which is characterized by Multiresolution Analysis. In this thesis we pay much attention to the research on de-noising from ECG and identifying QRS-complex by wavelet transform. Experiments have suggested that this method can effectively get rid of noise from ECG and identifyQRS-complex precisely.
