| Trimaran has a series of outstanding merits, its excellent performance of speediness, sea-keeping and stability have made it a wide application. In fact the comprehensive research of trimaran is just at the beginning. Due to the special configuration of trimaran, the flow field around its body is very complex. When that flow is found, it can be used to improve the configuration and performance of trimaran.In the background of rapid development of CFD technology, this paper applies the technology to the performance research of trimaran. The detail of the flow field around the body is obtained by simulating the viscous flow field using the commercial software CFX. During the simulation, the two-equation turbulent model is adopted and the influence of free surface is considered. Study and investigation on the treatment and effectiveness of the CFX code in the simulation of flow field of some sea-surface-moving vessels with complex configuration are also the ends of this work.After simulation, the results are compared with the experiment data, and from their analyses, some useful conclusions are drawn. It also shows the possibility of applying the CFD technology in the field of ship performance research if some more improvements are made. |
