Integrated navigation has become the fashion of ship navigating and orientating systems. The research of Integrated Navigation System (INS) in our country start in the 70's of 20th centuries. After the effort of more than ten years, it has got great progress. All kinds of INS have been applied in naval vessel, surveying vessel and other ships extensively. Because INS is responsible for ship navigating, orientating and posture controlling. It's reliability concern the security and orientate accuracy of the ship seriously. Therefore, the reliability of INS attracts increasing attention and study. The technique of Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) and Fault Tolerant Controlling (FTC) as important means of raising systematic security and reliability are getting people's attention and become another main content of control theory after system analysis and synthesis. For FDD being the foundation of FTC, the research of FDD on the computer system of INS is significant.Base on the computer system of INS, the thesis systematically research the technique of FDD and application on Integrated Navigation Display & Control Console (INDCC). Its history of FDD and its recent development is introduced briefly. The principle of INS is described systematically, discuss about its reliability. Detecting and diagnosing method is put forward according to the faults of INDCC appearing often.This thesis analyses various kinds of faults in the computer system of INDCC, detects the faults of system hardware off-line or online, and provides decision-making basis for faults solution, and then the detecting and diagnosing solution for the faults of RAM, serial port and network, the reliability of thecomputer system of INDCC is raised.
