FOG and SINS are important research direction of inertial technology in decades. Stabilized gyrocompass can supply precise azimuth and level information for ships, so it is highly regarded by navies of many countries. The research and development of strapdown gyrocompass system based on FOG is of important meaning. Taking the project of "211" named "The Research and Development of Strapdown Gyrocompass System Based on FOG" as the background, this paper mainly studies the key technologies and design and realization approach of the system. Material work done is as follows:As the output of FOG is angle rate and that of quartz accelerometer is acceleration, this paper studies updating methods of attitude and velocity of the system, and selects better methods to correct the error of corning and sculling.This paper studies a few of initial alignment methods, and gives rational methods to design the parameters and concludes the characteristics and suited environment of them, and validates them by simulation and experiment.Gyrocompass loop is the core structure of the system, so this paper emphases the two processes mainly using it. An effective gyrocompass alignment method is designed after particular research of several methods, and the theory fig, deducing process and design method of parameters is particularly given. After simulation and experiment, validity is proved. The result is analyzed and certain correct measures are given. The principles of loop design and selecting parameters of gyrocompass state are also researched, and the method to realize is given and simulation for compare is done for a long time.The algorithm of strapdown gyrocompass system is replanted into DSP for realization, and feasibility is validated by experiment, so the design of strapdown gyrocompass system based on FOG is finished.
