The 1-D full load mathematical model has been applied broadly in the engineering domain such as flood control, shipping, reservoir sediment. In this paper, based on the systematic analysis of the developing history and the present situation of the sediment mathematical model, a 1-D mathematical flood routing model for unsteady flow and a mathematical model to forecast the deposition in the reservoir have been developed separately. Based on the manning coefficient calculated, the results been compared with the results of other models and analyzed. Based on coefficients such as manning coefficient and non-homogeneous suspended load carrying capacity coefficient calculated, the erosion and deposition of Three Gorges reservoir was forecasted. Finally, numerical scheme about how to simulate 2-D convection equation has been researched and discussed. There are seven chapters in this paper:Chapter 1 is the exordium. The present situation, the main nodes and main numerical scheme of the 1-D flow and sediment model were concluded by the numbers. Based on these, the main work of the paper is put forward.Chapter 2 has established a new mathematical flow rounding model. Accuracy has been improved in allusion to the demand of high precise in the flow forecast. Compared with the results simulated separately by the neural network method and river dynamics method based on the variable of Q and Z. the calculation results of new model are found agreeable. In Chapter 3, based on the characteristic that all kinds of sediments have affect on the loss of the reservoir during the course of reservoir deposits, The 1-D full load mathematical model has been established and some methods have been expatiated systematically.Chapter 4 has analyzed the rationality of the result. A series of result got by the simulation to the general river and general reservoir suggested that the model in paper was applied. In Chapter 5, 1-D full load mathematical model has been applied in order to forecast erosion and deposition of the three Gorges reservoir. It includes three parts. Firstly, model has been applied in natural river bed of three gorges from October, 2000 to October 2001 . Secondly, model has been used to calculate early days' erosion and deposition of threegorges reservoir. Thirdly, erosion and deposition of reservoir has been forecast. Moreover, excitability of coefficients has been discussed.Chapter 6 has discussed numerical scheme. With the undetermined coefficient method , a new high accuracy scheme was brought foreword to simulate the 2-D advection .A satisfying result is got in simulating the rectangle pulse .It is suggested that this scheme can be applied well in the 2-D mathematical model. Finally ,Chapter 7 sums up the whole paper and prospects further research work in the future.
