Magnesium ion battery is a kind of new and green battery, but the researches about it are under elementary development, especially on the synthesis and electrochemical properties of positive and negative materials. Thus, there are many work blank waiting for researchers. Here we performed some work on the positive materials of magnesium batteries on the basis of the existing results.This thesis consists of seven chapters. The purpose of the first chapter is not only to survey the research progress of magnesium ion battery in whole world but also the nano-scale materials applied in the field of power sources. Based on these information I put forward my purposes and researches to solve existed questions.The second chapter shows the sol–gel preparation and electrochemical properties of MgCo0.66Mn1.34O4 as the positive materials of magnesium ion battery. The third chapter specifies the electrochemical properties of commercial V2O5 as positive materials of magnesium battery. Furthermore, the effect of the amount of the water on the electrochemical performance of the commercial V2O5 was also discussed.The fourth chapter investigates the hydrothermal preparation and electrochemical properties of vanadium oxide/titanate composites nanorods for magnesium ion battery.The fifth chapter studies the preparation of vanadium pentoxide xerogel/polyaniline composites and hydrothermal synthesis of vanadium oxide/ polyaniline composites. Then the electrochemical properties of these two composites were investigated in comparison.The sixth chapter discusses the preparation and electrochemical properties of vanadium oxide nanorods and V2O5 nanorods for magnesium ion battery.In the last chapter, we summarized the research wok of this thesis and proposed some suggestion to this field.
