As a complicated system, elevator involves mechanical, electric and cybernetic technologies. Many elements have great effects on the safety and comfort of elevators, among which the vibration factor is particularly significant. The guide rail, which acts as the main source exciting lateral vibration of cabin, is a key part of an elevator. The performances of elevator, such as safety, comfort and speed, are determined by the quality of the guide rails in large degree. Therefore, the examination of guide rails has an important position in the installation adjustment, performance check as well as maintenance of elevators. When all the particularities of rail-measurement were considered, such as the long travel distance, numerous items, mass data, strict real time requirement, and work on-site, an on-line rail survey device (RSD) based on embedded type technique has been developed. It is an improvement of RMS (a rail measuring system for quantity of elevator rail) which we have developed for OTIS Corp. under the support from United Technologies Corporation. RSD provides a new kind of examination means in guarantee for the comfort and safety qualities of elevator.By analyzing the vibration sources of the cabin, the qualities of guide rails, signal sampling technique and measurement errors, a new measuring principle and a new measuring structure for guide rails are presented. The CPU of RSD, corresponding software and hardware, is developed. On the other hand, the serial communication and testing results of the RSD are presented as well. The software design method by using virtual instruments technique is explained. The application of the wavelet transformation technique in the analysis on error motion signals of the joints is studied. The positions of the joints are sensed to increase the accuracy of fault diagnosis. At the end of this paper, according to the model for lateral vibration of the elevator, lateral accelerations generated by the steps are analysed. It provides a new method for evaluating the installation quality of guide rail. |
