There are many earthquakes occurring in our country, the accurate evaluation and forecast of the seismic behavior of existing buildings are promoted by the enormous destroy made by earthquakes. In order to research deeply the ground liquefaction, the liquefaction evaluating and finite element analysis based on actual engineering is performed in this paper. Based on experiment, liquefaction is evaulated through SPT,shear wave velocity method and con-liquefaction shear stress method. The results of the three methods are contrasted and proved to be consistent. By analyzing the cumulation of pore water pressure, we consider liquefaction occurs when the pore water pressure gets to 80 percent of overburden pressure, and this is considered to be the evaluating standard of liquefaction by finite element analysis in this paper. On the basis of liquefaction evaluating, dynamic response of dam foundation is analyzed by effective stress method, and the result of liquefaction evaluating is contrasted with the results of SPT,shear wave velocity method and indoor con-liquefaction shear stress method. By contrasting the results, the liquefaction evaluating through finite element analysis programme are proved to be practicable and reliable. By the non-linear finite element programme, the effect of seismic intensity to liquefaction and to occurrence and development of pore water pressure are compared and analyzed, the effect of subjacent bed to liquefaction are compared and analyzed too.
