Vacuum arc remelting furnace is a very important and can't be substituted equipment on titanium melt and producing good quality alloy steel. Manufacture and arrange of vacuum arc remelting furnace is a important question for discussion along with development on aviation's industry and increased demand on titanium alloy.We participated in automatic control system (ACS) and locale debugging of ZHT100 model vacuum arc remelting furnace which was manufactured the limited corporation of BAOJI city. This paper is a summarizing and advance of practice.Remelting rate of vacuum arc remelting furnace is one of factors influencing production quality. Control of remelting rate has some disadvantaged characteristic such as strong coupling, non-linearity, delay. Paper includes the following contents according to experience and deep analyses on field.It puts forward points that dynamic coupling between arc voltage and arc current is most contradiction which affects normal control, delay of remelting rate object is most reason which aggravate arc current fluctuation, arc current stabilization is fundament ways which solve the problem.We discuss sequential control based remelting rate –current model aimed at how to stabilize arc current. It is proved feasible during theoretic analysis and experiment approving. Build remelting rate –current model using method of Stat. experiment combining with fact of manufacture field.Control system adopt controller can programmed which compose distributed structure belong to Siemens Corp. S7-300 series. Its main feature is that measurement of remelting rate parameter has come out making use of weighing model which improves control condition on field.Now this system has been debugged at 621 spaceflight bureau BeiJing, which is running.
