This paper does research and investigation mainly on the variation law of ductility, stiffness, load capacity, energy dissipation and the influence of different loadingdirection, staggered height on the seismic resistant behaviors and the mechanisms ofshear forces transfer of the staggered joints of the fully 300mm-staggered beam-columnassembly via testing three fully 300mm-staggered concrete beam-column assemblyunder reverse cyclic loading , measuring strains of both horizontal stirrups in the jointcore and longitudinal reinforcement passing through the joint in different stages andconcrete nonlinear finite element analysis. After comparing behavior of fully300mm-staggered beam-column assembly with behavior of one beam height staggeredbeam-column assembly, as well as two-thirds of beam height staggered beam-columnassembly, these conclusions are achieved: 1. With the increase of staggered height, the horizontal shear of the middle part ofstaggered joint changes gradually from maximum to minimum. 2. Seismic resistant behaviors of the top part and the bottom part of the fully300mm-staggered joint are more like exterior joint. But the middle part of staggeredjoint is not the weakest part. 3. Beam longitudinal bars of the fully 300mm-staggered joint still has goodquality of anchor behaviors. Due to the over strength, the amount of stirrup should beincreased. In addition, bond deterioration of beam longitudinal bars in this joint isalmost similar with in the other two kind of joint. The more serious the joint isdeteriorated, the more bond slippage. 4. The different loading direction will still form different shear transfermechanisms .The directions of the diagonal compression struts and whether there ishorizontal centralized principal tensile stress are the major differences. 5. The amount of stirrup of the top part or the bottom part of fully300mm-staggered joint is calculated as the exterior joint, and the amount of stirrup ofthe middle part is calculated as the column. This way can guarantee the ductility of 3beam-column assembly.
