Huibaoling Reservoir is dangerous because the earthquake intensity of its address is as high as 7 degree. In order to ensure the safety of the dam and the normal utilization of the reservoir, therefore, danger-remove and reinforcement measure should be carried out on the dam. Combining the danger-remove and reinforcement project, the author develops the research work and obtains the conclusions as follows:1 The engineering geological condition of the location of the earth dam in Huibaoling Reservoir of Linyi, Shandong Province is analyzed. The location of the dam mainly comes out the Xuzhuang Formation stratum of Cambrian system and the Relax Stack Formation stratum of Quaternary system, and partly comes out the Zhangxia Formation stratum. Besides, the author studies the properties of the dam material and gets its physical and mechanical index. The hydrological and ecological conditions of the dam location are analyzed. Injection tests are carried out on the bottom rock of the northern and southern dam and the spillway, respectively.2 Huibaoling Reservoir Dam consists of two dams, the southern one and the northern one, and some problems arose in their running, so the author analyzes the quality of the dam material.3 According to the laboratory tests, the dynamic strength and deformation properties of the dam material are studied and its dynamic calculation parameters are also determined.4 Earthquake response analyses are carried out on the Huibaoling Reservoir Dam. Under 7 degree of earthquake intensity, the safety factors of some exceptional element in the upstream shell of the northern dam are less than 1.0, so compaction and reinforcement measure need to be done on it.5 An integral dynamic stability analysis is carried out on the dam body under 7 degree of earthquake intensity. The slope stability safety factors of the downstream dam of Huibaoling Reservoir meet the demand, however, those of the upstream of the northern and the southern dam are not desirable. So, a scheme of riprap and compaction should be adopted on the toe of upstream slope, and a scheme of anti-seismic reinforcement measure is given by the author in detail.
